Back To College

After two months of summer vacation, after two months spent in travelling between two cities, thinking in a lot of issues and long periods of deep sleeping, after two months free of medical books, websites and journals, I got back to my college.
Yesterday was my first day. I woke up at morning so depressed, lacking confident in myself with empty mind and forgotten knowledge. Trying to relieve these feelings I took a warm shower-it didn’t help-. I left my home going to my college well dressed with tight necktie, hanging my stethoscope on my neck. I drove my car through the usual morning crowded traffic but with using of my driving skills, 20 minutes was enough to get me in the collage. These 20 minutes also was enough to assess my vacation and depress me more and more. While I am driving, there was someone inside me keep asking me bothered questions, regret making questions……..What have you did in the summer?....How many books did you read?....what about the topics that you missed in surgery course, did you read about them?... Did you prepare yourself for pediatric course?....what about Obs & gyne?...When will you be professional?......When will you believe in that medical students have no vacations?....?????????????????
By the time I arrived my college, I reached a peak level of depression. And as a rule in my college and as the past years, first day like the second, third, fifteenth and the last day in the year. All start at 8:00 a.m and end by 5:00 p.m. There were kind doctors who just explained curriculum of their subjects and did‘t go into further topics and of course there were strict ones who explained their curriculums in 5 minutes and used 45 minutes in presenting new topic.
By the end of the day, my memory was refreshed, the depression was relieved. I wasn’t the only one who wasted his summer.Maybe another two days are enough to make me in medicine mode
